No other excursion symbolises better the warm and colourful welcome of the Mediterranean than this Folklore Evening. The Folklore Evening, is a night with a difference. Away from the bustling crowds and noises of Malta's many tourist resorts, this evening is not only an evening of good food and fun entertainment but also an insight into Malta's traditions - traditions, that have been passed on for centuries.
Feast yourselves to the most typical Maltese dishes, which have been local specialities since the time of the Knights of St John, such as fenek (rabbit), bragoli (beef olives), torta tar-rikotta (cheese pie) and various others. All washed down with lots of local wine.
After dinner you will be entertained by a series of Maltese traditional dances both in the unique Ghonnella costume as well as in the traditional peasant costume. These dances were the only form of entertainment in the days gone-by. Following closely the hard toils of harvest time, it created a pleasant break in the dull everyday routine that made up the peasants' life - a few crowded hours of merrymaking amidst a yearly routine of sweat and toil working the land.
